What can you do with eggs?

Boiled egg recipes

Hard-boiled eggs are not only great when peeled as a snack, but also have various uses in different cuisines. The firm texture and well-cooked yolks make them easy to manage. You can serve them with a sauce or braised in a curry. You can also use them in a Japanese egg salad, in a Chinese-style marinade, or serve them as fancy hors d'oeuvres in the form of deviled eggs.

With firm whites and creamy yolks, soft-boiled eggs are the perfect balance between hard-boiled and runny eggs. Delicious as a topping, they will enrich the flavors of simple dishes such as savory oatmeal. You can also marinate them to enjoy with rice, the Korean way, or with ramen, the Japanese way. To make soft-boiled eggs the star of the dish, just serve them with a creamy sauce.

Poached egg recipes

Aside from the popular Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce, countries from the Mediterranean region also give us many poached egg recipes, all of which are perfect for dipping with freshly toasted bread. In Turkey, poached eggs are served with garlic yogurt and spicy paprika butter. In addition to that, with its origins in North Africa, shakshuka is served in Middle Eastern countries such as Israel, with the eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce.

Scrambled egg recipes

Because scrambled eggs are so easy to prepare, their popularity has carried them beyond the breakfast table in many cuisines. In China, scrambled eggs are fried to fluffiness with tomatoes or with rice; both comforting dishes that are reminiscent of carefree childhood days and the feeling of home. In Turkey, the eggs are scrambled in a spicy tomato sauce to make menemen for breakfast, but we definitely think there is potential for dinner there too. Also, if you’re vegan, you can still enjoy scrambled 'eggs'. Our solution for vegan scrambled eggs? Tofu and kala namak (black salt)!

Omelette recipes

In addition to French and American omelettes, there are Asian variations from cuisines like Cantonese or Thai too. The Cantonese egg foo young, also popular in the USA, is a fluffy omelette with vegetables or meat, served with a sweet and sour sauce. And from Thai cuisine, Khai yat sai, is a Thai omelette that is filled with vegetables, meat, or seafood.

Fried egg recipes

Fried eggs are done in minutes and can often be made in the residual heat of a pan you just used, for a quick fried egg with a runny yolk. Perfect for Korean rice dishes like Bibimbap, Kimchi fried rice, or even on bread with pesto. And if you’re looking to give your fried eggs another twist, try them Thai-style where the egg is fried until crispy with lots of oil.
