From chicken-avocado bagels to shuizu fish, this category covers everything that you could possibly want. This year however, our top five slots for '20 minutes or less' recipes are all taken up by everyone’s favorite—pasta!
Few dishes are so simple, and even fewer simple dishes are so delicious and comforting as a pasta with a good sauce. Since emigrating from Italy, pasta has become a dominant world food, impacting culinary cultures of countries around the world. Without further ado, we present our top five '20 minutes or less' recipes for 2017.

Kicking off our top five countdown for most popular ‘20 minutes or less’ recipes of 2017 is gnocchi with peas and Parmesan. There are few comfort foods better than gnocchi, especially when laced with garlic, fresh herbs, and cheese. Plus, the peas make it healthy, right?
Can’t decide whether to have steak or pasta? How about tagliatelle with beef and creamy pepper sauce? Just edged out of the top 3, this dish is nonetheless always a winner.
A cheese-covered bronze medal goes to our four-cheese and tomato baked penne. What could possibly be in second and first place to beat a pasta dish with Parmesan, Gorgonzola, Gruyère, and mozzarella?
While certainly not falling into the same classic Italian recipes as our winner, our one-pot spinach still comes in at a very respectable second place and arguably still wins for simplicity of cooking.
Drum roll please….Our number 1 most popular '20 minutes or less' recipe of 2017 falls to ’Classic spaghetti carbonara.’ It is classic for a reason. Five simple ingredients (none of them cream) combine to make a dish perfect for just about anything, whether it be a date, a family meal, or just for one.
