Healthy Eating at Home, for Big and Small
Visiting Veronika Pachala of Carrots for Claire
Love is written with a capital L in Veronika’s life; It is love for her family and for cooking that inspires and motivates her immensely.
We met the blogger and cookbook author in Bremen and got to know how these two loves and passions came together.

Veronika has two children and, naturally, only wants the best for them. So, when her daughter Claire showed signs of intolerances for animal products and artificial additives at an early age, she changed the entire family’s diet.
As a result, Veronika likes to cook and bake varied, nutritious meals, filled with healthy fats.
She is a strong advocate of virgin coconut oil and strongly urges the readers of her blog Carrots for Claire to avoid “empty” ingredients, like refined sugar or wheat flour.
She finds inspiration in many things, but especially from her childhood memories. She revisits old childhood classics—like pancakes and her mom’s delicious carrot cake, which is not to be missed at any birthday party—and transforms them into healthy versions that the whole family can enjoy.
In addition to her children, Veronika is also a proud mother of something else: her cookbooks.
From her books it becomes very clear: Eating healthy is for the whole family—and when the house is filled with such delicious cakes and fine meals, everyone will be asking for a second helping of the nutritious fare.
During our visit with Veronika, we were invited to try food from both of her books, thus experiencing a small slice of the love she offers through food.
