|15 tbsp||tomato paste|
|800 g||canned whole-peeled tomatoes|
|800 g||canned crushed tomatoes|
|2 tbsp||dried oregano|
|1 tbsp||dried thyme|
|1 tbsp||dried basil|
|basil for garnish|
Peel onions and garlic. Dice onion and mince garlic.
Heat olive oil in a large pot set over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and sauté until translucent.
Add tomato paste and continue to sauté until caramelized. Add both the whole-peeled and crushed tomatoes, oregano, thyme, and basil. Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for approx. 30 min.
Meanwhile, add spaghetti to a large pot of salted water and cook according to package instructions.
Season marinara sauce with salt and pepper. Serve with spaghetti and garnish with basil.
