In a pot or Dutch oven cook Italian sausage and a pinch of red pepper flakes over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook a minute more
After meat is cooked and no longer pink, sprinkle the flour and Knorr chicken base over the meat and stir.
Pour water into pot and stir. Add can of beans and bring to a boil
When the water is boiling add pasta
Add seasonings and tomato paste, cook until pasta is tender, but not mushy
Turn down heat to low and serve - top with parsley flakes and Parmesan cheese if desired
