Apple butter toasts

Step 1/ 3
- 1 kg apples
- 70 g sugar
- 200 ml apple cider
- large saucepan
- cutting board
- knife
Peel, core, and cut the apples into small pieces. Add the apple pieces, sugar, and cider to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat for approx. 20 min., or until the apples have softened and the liquid is absorbed.

- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- 100 g brown sugar

Purée the apple mixture with a hand blender. Once smooth, transfer back to the saucepan along with the cinnamon, cloves, and brown sugar. Cook for approx. 10 min. more over medium heat.

- 2 sealable jars
Set aside to cool before transferring the apple butter to sealable jars for storing. Serve apple butter on good bread along with cheese and fresh apple slices, if desired!
