4-Course Mediterranean Tasting Menu
Enjoy the flavors of Southern European cuisine from the comfort of home.
Three of the five most-visited countries in the world—France, Spain, and Italy— are located in the Mediterranean. This is hardly a coincidence. These countries and their neighbors have a lot to offer tourists: cosmopolitan cities, beautiful country sides, fascinating culture, and, of course, top notch cuisine. Can you honestly think of much in life that’s better than fresh fish and seafood from the Mediterranean, olive oil, pasta, cured meats, fresh herbs, and fruits and vegetables that have practically been kissed by the sun? Neither can I. Fortunately, you don’t have to travel long distances to enjoy some of these culinary comforts. Simply choose one—or all—of the following Mediterranean-inspired recipes from our archive to try at home.
Pasta, Parmesan, cured ham, arugula, tomatoes, and peppers: This is the Mediterranean joie de vivre in salad form.
Padrón peppers give this pasta dish a delicious Iberian twist. Chili, rosemary, and thyme add a pleasantly earthy finishing note.
A French cuisine classic. The combination of mussels and shrimp with white wine and aromatics like fennel, garlic, and shallot is perfection. The addition of thyme adds a welcome touch of Provence.
This typical Spanish omelet is a wonderful, filling breakfast and basically only calls for three ingredients. Enjoy it hot or at room temperature as leftovers.
