    Peel and slice shallots into thin rings. Peel and slice parsley root into strips.

    Melt butter in an ovenproof pan over medium heat. Add parsley root cut-side down and fry until golden brown, approx. 10 min. Add walnuts and thyme, then spread caramelized shallot mixture over the top. Season with salt and pepper, then remove pan from heat.
