Lechon Kawali (Fried Pork Belly)
- ½ l water
In a deep pan, put 3/4 L of water or just until the pork belly can be submerged into.
- ⅓ kg pork belly
Turn the stove on in a medium hight heat, and put the pork belly.
- ⅔ tsp salt
- ⅔ tsp pepper
- ⅔ onion
- 2 cloves garlic
Add in salt, pepper, onion, and garlic.
Let it boil for 30 mins or just until the pork belly is tender.
After boiling, take the pork belly out of the pan and pat it dry.
Cut the pork belly into medium thin slices.
- ⅓ l cooking oil (for deep frying)
Preheat a deep pan with the cooking oil. Then, deep fry the sliced pork bellies until golden brown.
- ⅔ tsp sugar (for serving)
- 3⅓ tbsp vinegar (for serving)
- ⅔ tsp soy sauce
- ⅔ pinch chili flakes
For the sauce, just mix vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and chilli flakes in a saucer.
Serve with rice!
