ground beef
¾ tbsp
butter

onion

bell pepper
1 tbsp
garlic

tomato paste

canned crushed tomatoes

canned black bean drained
¼
canned kidney bean drained
¼ tsp
white pepper
tbsp
chili powder
½ tbsp
oregano
¼ tbsp
sweet paprika powder
½ tsp
thyme
¼
bay leaf
4 fl oz
water

  • Step 1/8

    • ¼ lb ground beef

    Sauté beef in some butter/oil, then take beef out of pot

  • Step 2/8

    • ¾ tbsp butter
    • ¼ onion
    • ¼ bell pepper

    Sauté veggies till soft, add in garlic half way through this step

  • Step 3/8

    • 1 tbsp garlic

    Return beef to pan and add garlic

  • Step 4/8

    • oz tomato paste
    • 4 oz canned crushed tomatoes
    • 4 fl oz water

    Add liquids, use canned tomatoes first to deglaze the pan some. Use as much water as needed

  • Step 5/8

    • ¼ tsp white pepper
    • tbsp chili powder
    • ½ tbsp oregano
    • ¼ tbsp sweet paprika powder
    • ½ tsp thyme
    • ¼ bay leaf

    Add spices; adjust salt, pepper, spice as needed

  • Step 6/8

    Bring to boil then reduce heat to low and Simmer 1 hr covered

  • Step 7/8

    • ¼ canned black bean drained
    • ¼ canned kidney bean drained

    Add beans and return to low simmer

  • Step 8/8

    Adjust seasoning as needed and add your favorite toppings and sides.
