Combine all dry ingredients.
Make a well in the centre and add milk, slightly cooled butter, vanilla and egg. First mix the wet ingredients then mix it all together.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and wipe over with a bit of butter. Pour one small ladle of the batter. When the underside is golden and bubbles start to appear flip it over on to the other side. Repeat with rest of the batter.
