Apple Pie Cookie Bars

Ingredients
Step 1/ 4
- ¼ oz butter
- ⅛ lbs Apple, canned, sliced
- ⅛ tbsp ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
- ⅛ cup Sugar, granulated
- ⅛ cup light brown sugar
- ⅛ cup cornflour
Preheat oven to 325*. Melt butter and add the sugars. Cook until the sugar melts and becomes a deep caramel color. Just when it starts to smoke, add the apples. Cook until the sugar remelts. Add the spices and stir. Make a slurry with the cornstarch and add to mixture. Stir until it thickens and the starch is cooked out. Pour onto a plastic tray to cool.
Step 2/ 4
- ⅛ cups flour, all-purpose
- ⅛ cups rolled oats
- ⅛ oz Kosher salt
- ⅛ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ cup sugar
- ⅛ cup light brown sugar
- ⅜ oz unsalted butter
- ⅛ tsp vanilla extract
Combine all the dry ingredients and make sure there are no lumps. Melt the butter and mix with the vanilla and dry ingredients. Stir until it’s all moistened. Press into half sheet pans that have been sprayed. Bake for 10 minutes, let cool slightly.
Step 3/ 4
- ⅛ oz unsalted butter
- ⅛ cup sugar
- ⅛ cup light brown sugar
- ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
- ⅛ cup Flour, all-purpose
Place the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Melt the butter and pour onto the dry ingredients. Mix until it looks crumbly.
Step 4/ 4
After the crust has been par baked, place 3 cups of apple filling onto a half sheet pan. Sprinkle the crumb topping on top. Bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes until topping is golden brown. When cool, drizzle donut fondant on top.
