wholemeal flour
4 tsp
active dry yeast
2 tsp
sea salt
2
egg
400 g
cheddar cheese (grated)
4 tsp
dried thyme
700 ml
warm water
2 tsp
milk
Utensils
2lb loaf tin
Step 1/ 5
- 900 g wholemeal flour
- 4 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 400 g cheddar cheese (grated)
Mix flour, yeast, salt, and 2/3 of cheese.
Step 2/ 5
- 2 egg
- 700 ml warm water
Make a well in the middle and put in beaten egg and water, whilst continually mixing
Step 3/ 5
- 2lb loaf tin
Pour into 2lb greased loaf tin, and cover with tea towel. Leave to rise for 60-90 mins.
Step 4/ 5
- 4 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp milk
Brush with milk and sprinkle with remaining cheese and thyme.
Step 5/ 5
Bake at 200 degrees for 40-45 mins
