4 slices
beef minute steaks
Bovril cube
2 tbsp
soy sauce
2 tbsp
Carmelised red onion chutney
2 slices
Mature cheddar cheese
200 g
ciabatta rolls

  • Step 1/8

    • 4 slices beef minute steaks
    • 3 red onions
    • knife

    Finely slice them all

  • Step 2/8

    • 1 Bovril cube
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • Whisk and jug

    Place Bovril cube and soy sauce in jug and dissolve with 250ml of boiling water

  • Step 3/8

    • Large deep pot

    Put large pot with some veg oil in on the highest heat on cooker . Heat pan until you see pan start to smoke

    When pot is smoking. It’s time to add the finely slice steak . Keep stirring the steak as it enters the hot pot until it’s all browned . Then add the red onions and keep stirring. All in stir about 5 minutes

    Now it’s time to add your Bovril & soy sauce to the pot . Stir and use this to coat all your steak & onion.keep stirring for a few minutes then stop . You want all liquid to reduce into the steak & onion.Now add your onion chutney and stir in Dont let the steak and onions stick to bottom of pan . Or they will burn

    The secret is you don’t want the finished look to look wet . So I guess it’s down to your own eye view

    Now it’s time to prepare your Cibbatta rolls by cutting them in half through the middle. Mayonnaise both sides and place rocket on one side of them ready to top with your steak & onion mix

  • Step 8/8

    Add a slice of cheese to each steak sandwich and place the top on and grill in sandwich press for 3 minutes

  • Enjoy your meal!
