    Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil. Crush garlic with a knife. Place the canned tomatoes in a sieve and collect the liquid. Lightly crush the tomatoes with your fingers.

    Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the garlic for approx. 2 min. Then add the tomato pieces and fry for approx. 10 min. Add the remaining tomato liquid to the pan and let it reduce for approx. 5 min. Cook pasta in water according to package directions. Roughly pluck the basil and add to the sauce.
