Ingredients

Servings:-20+
5 kg freshly picked red sorrel
whole cinnamon sticks
2 kg  white granulated sugar
2 tsp whole clove
orange peel pieces
½ clove ginger
1½ tsp mixed essence

  • pot with warm water
  • 10 cups of water, stove
  • a wooden spoon
  • Step 1/8

    • 5 kg freshly picked red sorrel
    • use a pair of gloves can cause skin irritation

    Remove seed from the sorrel.

    • pot with warm water

    Use warm water to wash the sorrel before placing in pot.

  • Step 3/8

    • 10 cups of water, stove

    Take a large pot full with 10 cups of water and put on stove with medium heat

    • whole cinnamon sticks
    • 2 tsp whole clove
    • orange peel pieces
    • ½ clove ginger
    • a wooden spoon

    After 10 minutes place in the following ingredients listed below. After adding the ingredients using the spoon turn for about two minutes and leave on medium heat for 30 minutes

    • 2 kg  white granulated sugar

    After the 30 minutes add the sugar and mixed essence and stir for 2 minutes

  • Step 6/8

    leave for another 5 minutes and then turn off the stove and cover it properly so it can sit overnight

    Next morning remove all sorrel petals and spices from pot

  • Step 8/8

    Fill in desired containers / bottles. Place in refrigerator until ready to serve
