Utensils

oven, knife, colander, spatula, baking dish, aluminum foil

    Preheat oven to 350°

    Chop onion.

  • Step 3/15

    • ½ tbsp salt
    • ½ tbsp pepper
    • 1 lbs Ground Italian sausage or ground beef
    • colander

    Brown and season Italian sausage/ground beef. Strain grease if necessary.

    • ½ onion
    • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
    • spatula

    Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic.

    • 14 oz Green Chile sauce
    • baking dish

    Pour a small layer of green Chile sauce to the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

    • 6 corn tortillas

    Place a single layer (~3) of corn tortillas in the baking dish.

    Spoon a layer of meat and onion mixture onto the tortillas.

  • Step 8/15

    • 1 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    Add a layer of cheese onto the meat mixture.

    • 4 oz Hatch green Chiles

    Pour a layer of the green Chile sauce and Hatch green chiles onto the meat mixture.

    Repeat the layering process until pan is full.

    Put remaining cheese on top.

    Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

    Remove foil and bake for 10 minutes.

    Remove dish from oven and let rest for 10 minutes.

    Serve with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole.
