knife, 2 bowls, 2 whisks, cast iron pan, food thermometer
Step 1/6
- 2 Catfish fillets
- knife
Rinse fish and cut in half.
Step 2/6
- ⅜ bag shake and bake
- ⅜ tsp cayenne pepper
- bowl
- whisk
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
Step 3/6
- 4 cl canola oil
- cast iron pan
Pour oil in pan and turn heat on medium.
Step 4/6
- ⅜ egg
- ⅜ cl buttermilk
- bowl
- whisk
Mix the buttermilk and egg in a separate bowl from the dry ingredients.
Step 5/6
Dip filets one at a time in the egg mix and then the dry mix. Set aside each one as you're done coating them.
Step 6/6
- food thermometer
Make sure the oil is at 350°F and then slowly put the fillets in the pan. I can fit 4 in my pan without overlapping.
