Easy ginger, beef, and onion stir-fry

- 225 g flank steaks
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ onion
- 25 g ginger
- ¼ tbsp starch
- 1 tbsp water

Slice beef against the grain into thick strips. Add to a large bowl with sugar, half the soy sauce, and vegetable oil. Slice onion into rings. Peel and thinly slice ginger into matchsticks. In a small bowl, whisk together remaining soy sauce, cornstarch, and water.

Heat some vegetable oil in a pan until very hot. Add ginger and onion and fry until the edges of onions are slightly caramelized, then push to the side. Add beef and fry until browned all over, then stir everything together.
Step 3/ 3
- ½ tbsp unsalted butter
- rice (for serving)
Add soy sauce mixture to the pan and cook until sauce thickens. When the beef is cooked through, remove from heat and stir in butter. Serve with rice and enjoy!
