"I created this recipe when I got tired of my chocolate chip cookies coming out crunchy. The cookies are steamed Dim-Sum style which gives them a lovely pillowy texture. Enjoy!"

⅛ cup
sugar
⅛ cup
light brown sugar

eggs
Âź tsp
salt
Âź tsp
baking soda
Âź tsp
cream of tartar
⅜ cups
All Purpose Flour
Âź cup
chocolate chip

  • Step 1/ 8

    • parchment paper
    • steamer

    Bring butter to room temperature, line the bottom of a steamer with parchment paper, and put a large pot of water on to boil

  • Step 2/ 8

    • ⅛ cup butter
    • ⅛ cup sugar
    • ⅛ cup light brown sugar
    • Mixing Bowl
    • Electric Mixer

    Add room temp butter and sugars to a large bowl, beat for 1 full minute

  • Step 3/ 8

    • ½ eggs

    Crack both eggs into the butter/ sugar mixture, beat until very light and fluffy (Do Not Skimp On The Beating)

  • Step 4/ 8

    • Âź tsp salt
    • Âź tsp baking soda
    • Âź tsp cream of tartar
    • ⅜ cups All Purpose Flour

    Sift all dry ingredients into the wet and mix until just combined

  • Step 5/ 8

    • Âź cup chocolate chip

    Gently mix in chocolate chips

  • Step 6/ 8

    Separate dough into 8 even balls, flatten each ball into 3/4 inch disks

  • Step 7/ 8

    Add dough into the parchment lined steamer, leaving a few inches between each cookie (you may need to steam them in batches)

  • Step 8/ 8

    Steam cookies for 15 minutes or until firm, leave in basket to cool for at least 5 minutes before enjoying!
