Heat oven to 375F. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt and set aside.
In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugars with electric mixer on medium speed about 1 minute until fluffy, scraping side of the bowl occasionally.
Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture, just until blended. Dough should be stiff at this stage. Stir in chocolate chip and mix well with a spatula to ensure chips are well distributed.
Onto cookie sheets or parchment paper, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls or use ice cream scooper. Keep at least 2 inches apart
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool 2 minutes, remove cookies to cooling rack. Cool completely for 30 minutes. Store covered in airtight container.
