Put water in dish, add sugar and put in oven at 180C.

Peel and cur apples in thick slices

Take pie dish out of oven, stir and add apples to the syrup. Put back on oven.

Cream together sugar and butter. Add beaten egg. Add flour and baking powder. Make a stiff dough.

Remove pie dish from oven. Spread dough over apples. Bake for 15 min then fan bake for a further 10 min. Remove from oven.
