Artis GmbH from Frankfurt am Main is calling back a portion of its Dubai chocolate due to a somewhat dangerous reason: Faulty label print with an undisclosed sesame content. The viral star Dubai chocolate has been the subject of many social videos and brands in the summer of 2024, and for most consumers, the “hype” has not faded.

However, as with any product, it is possible that the famous Dubai chocolate could pose a threat to a portion of its buyers. This is now due to a component that is left undisclosed in the labels and packaging of Dubai chocolate customers found in stores.

What are the ingredients of Dubai chocolate?

Commonly, Dubai chocolate consists of chocolate, kadayıf (shredded phyllo dough), pistachio cream, and occasionally tahini.  The rather concerning ingredient within the recall of the product involves the last ingredient on the list: Tahini, specifically sesame seeds

Since it is undisclosed in the ingredients list of the chocolate bar, it poses a threat to consumers who have sesame allergies: Stomach related issues, rashes, hives, and other reactions a person with this specific allergy could have.

Which Dubai chocolate bar is potentially dangerous now?

The bar that is being called back is the 100gMiskets Dubai Chocolate", with the best before date 09.11.2025, and batch number L: 24314\1. Any Dubai chocolate fan who purchased this product recently, will be able to return it without a receipt obligation at the store, or through an online form to your market.

As a consumer, is it better to do it yourself?

For any Dubai chocolate fan, or any consumer who generally prefers to “do it themselves”, this Kitchen Stories recipe for Dubai chocolate bars: Two ways promises the same pleasure, with the ingredients familiar to the household, rather than the factory.
