Black sesame flavor has been gaining popularity since last year. The newly popular seed has been made into jet black coffee, pastries, ice creams, and more. Although it is not categorized as a superfood, black sesame seeds still have a lot of nutrients, and they might be worth all the hype. 

How healthy are black sesame seeds?

The biggest benefits in black sesame seeds are rooted in its rich minerals, with magnesium being the most dense one. Particularly beneficial to blood sugar and cholesterol. In addition it benefits the heart and muscle health by lowering the pressure on them. 

However, it is to be noted that the calorie dense seeds should be consumed in moderation to work properly. Occasional black sesame seed garnish, a few new black sesame products (black sesame croissants, pastries, etc.) should be preferred and practiced over excessive usage.
