Black pepper and olive oil boost vitamin absorption
Meals benefit from black pepper and olive oil as they enable vitamin absorption
Vitamin supplements are essential to many daily routines today, and their absorption is almost always overlooked. There are certain food combinations and scenarios that either enable or block nutrients from being absorbed.
For instance some legumes can block iron absorption, or some soft drinks can block vitamin D from being well absorbed. Because some compounds bind themselves to vitamins and minerals, hence halting the digestion.
However, some food combinations also boost vitamin and mineral absorption. It’s important to combine the vitamins one needs with the correct foods. Vitamin A for instance is best absorbed with healthy fats like avocado and nuts.
The vitamin boosting combo: Black pepper and olive oil
The big names of research so far are black pepper and olive oil. There are chemicals in black pepper (mainly piperine) that allow for more vitamins and minerals to be absorbed into one’s bloodstream. Seasoning food is not only for taste, but also for better nutrition as well.
Much like black pepper, olive oil is also an enabler for vitamins, especially within salads to be absorbed well. Carotenoids for instance, are absorbed way better with olive oil, and a significant boost is seen. For now, these two are the easiest and simplest options to boost vitamin absorption in a daily routine.
