Preheat your oven to 180 degrees
Line a 7inch square baking tray with grease proof paper
Cream your butter and sugar together. Make sure your butter is room temperature so it creams easily
Slowly mix in your eggs carefully
Start adding your flour and baking powder, mixing it in slowly
Add your 50ml milk for sponge and vanilla essence
Now your cake mixture is mixed in pour in to your prepared baking tin
Place in the oven for 25 minutes
After 25 minutes check with a skewer the cake is cooked. Remove from the oven and allow to cook for 20-25 minutes
Add your sugar and milk to a large bowl and mix into a thick liquid
Pour icing mixture over your cooled cake
Immediately cover with sprinkles while icing is still wet
