Add rice to a fine sieve and rinse with cold water, swirling your hand through the rice until the water runs clear. Let drain thoroughly.
Transfer rice and cold water to a pot and let soak for approx. 30 min., if desired. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then cover and turn heat to low. Let simmer undisturbed for approx. 15 min.
Turn off heat and let rice rest for approx. 10 – 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
