  • Step 1/5

    • 83⅓ g unsalted butter
    • 113⅓ g honey
    • 83⅓ g light brown sugar
    • saucepan
    • wooden spoon

Add the honey, butter and sugar into a large saucepan and stir until a thick paste is created. Tip: better results are achieved on a lower heat.

  • Step 2/5

    • 166⅔ g rolled oats

Take the saucepan off the heat and add the rolled oats to the thick paste you have created, one handful at a time. Tip: if step one was done on a low heat, once all the oats are added, the mixture should be cool enough that you can use your hands. This will improve the bonding of the ingredients.

  • Step 3/5

Butter the cake tin or baking tray which you are going to use to bake your mixture in. Tip: use your hands to make sure you get all parts of the tray greased up.

  • Step 4/5

Add the mixture to the tray and bake for 30mins. Tip: Whilst the mixture is cooking. Add warm water to the saucepan and stir with the wooden spoon. The ingredients used to cement the mixture together an soluble, meaning this method will make it easier to clean the saucepan.

  • Step 5/5

Once the top is started to turn golden brown, remove from the oven and leave to rest for 10 minutes before eating.
