"Caipirinha (or affectionately called Caipi) combines the tastes of sugary-sweet and fruity-sour and is therefore suitable for every occasion. The hit drink from Brazil is quick and easy to prepare and the perfect refreshment! All you need are limes, sugar or sugar syrup and cachaça, the ingredient that makes the caipirinha a caipirinha. If you can't find cachaça, you can replace it with light rum and mix a delicious daiquiri instead. Since the limes end up in the glass with their peel, it's best to use untreated citrus fruits. But even these are often covered with a layer of wax, which is why you should wash them thoroughly under hot water beforehand. If you roll the limes back and forth vigorously on your work surface beforehand, the juice will come out even better and you will save some muscle power when crushing."
