Taco Bell is coming to Germany in 2025
Finally, German Tex-Mex fans can get excited!
After years of speculation, it's now official: Taco Bell, one of the most popular fast food chains in the US, is opening its first branch in Germany in 2025. Fans of Tex-Mex cuisine can look forward to tacos, burritos, quesadillas and more. Berlin has been confirmed as the first location by İş Holding, which holds the franchise rights for Germany. A further 25 restaurants are to follow in the first year – the long-term goal is up to 150 locations. A number of logistical challenges have delayed the opening, which was originally planned for 2024.
The global taco success conquers the world
With over 7,200 restaurants in the USA and over 1,000 more branches worldwide, Taco Bell has long been a giant in the fast food world. In Europe, there are already branches in countries such as Spain and the UK and now the German fast food scene is also on the agenda. What's on the menu? A combination of Mexican and US cuisine with a focus on creative, quick dishes that are popular worldwide.
Competition drives the fast food market
In Germany, Taco Bell will be in direct competition with established fast food chains such as McDonald's and Burger King. However, with its range of Tex-Mex dishes, Taco Bell serves a niche that has hardly been covered in Germany to date. But it doesn't stop at tacos: İş Holding is also planning to launch other brands such as Krispy Kreme, the US doughnut and milkshake chain, in order to expand the variety of gastronomy in Germany.
