“You can either look up a different recipe to prepare clarified butter, or you can find this in Indian stores labeled as “ghee”. Tastes just like the buttery and salty theatre popcorn. DO NOT use normal butter as a substitute, as the popcorn will turn soggy.”

Ingredients

80 g popcorn kernels
2 tbsp Clarified Butter (ghee)
1 tsp Salt (fine)
2 tbsp coconut oil

    • 2 tbsp coconut oil

    Take any heavy bottom pan and pour 2 tbsp coconut oil and heat it over a medium- high flame.

  • Step 2/4

    • 80 g popcorn kernels

    Add the popcorn kernels once the oil is hot enough for them to pop

  • Step 3/4

    As the kernels pop, close the lid and shake the pan to coat them in the oil. Cook them for 3 minutes, over a medium-low flame.

    • 2 tbsp Clarified Butter (ghee)
    • 1 tsp Salt (fine)

    Once all the kernels are popped, transfer them to a serving bowl. Pour half a tbsp of clarified butter and shake the bowl. Then, pour the rest of the clarified butter and stifle it gently. Finally, add 1 tsp of salt and shake them again.
