Grate peeled potatoes. Gather grated potatoes in a clean towel and squeeze out excess moisture.
- 1 tbsp starch
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
Transfer potatoes to a bowl. Add starch, ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper, and toss to combine.
Add a thin layer of oil to a frying pan over medium-high heat. Form potato mixture into loose patties, add to pan, and fry until golden brown, approx. 4 – 5 min. on each side. Adjust heat if necessary so potatoes don't burn, and add more oil if needed.
Transfer röstis to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Enjoy!
Form potato mixture into approx. 8cm rounds. Fry rounds on medium high heat for approx. 4 - 5 min. on each side. Then, place them on paper towels to drain any excess fat. Enjoy!
