  • Step 1/7

    • tsp active dry yeast
    • ¾ cup active dry yeast

    Dissolve yeast in water.

  • Step 2/7

    • 2⅔ cups flour
    • tbsp vegetable oil
    • ¼ tsp salt

Add flour, oil, & salt. Mix well and turn onto a well-floured board.

  • Step 3/7

Knead until soft and elastic (8-10 min). If sticky, add more flour as needed.

  • Step 4/7

Oil/grease a large bowl and place dough in. Grease the top of the dough. Cover with a blanket or towel and place away from any draft. Let rise until double in size (1 - 1 1/2 hr). Ready when dough bounces back when lightly pressed with finger.

  • Step 5/7

Shape into a 13” round pan or two smaller pans. With index finger, press around the inside edge to make a rounded crust.

  • Step 6/7

    • 16 oz canned crushed tomatoes
    • ½ tsp dried basil
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • tsp pepper

To make the sauce, lightly oil a frying pan. Place tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper in the pan and sauté for 10-15 min. Let cool before placing desired amount on pie dough.

  • Step 7/7

    • 6 oz mozzarella cheese

Top dough with sauce, grated mozzarella, and other desired toppings. Bake at 500 degrees for 10 min. on lower shelf of oven.

  • Enjoy your meal!
