    Mix flour, some sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Cut butter into cubes, and work into flour mixture until large crumbs form. Add water a little at a time, and continue to mix until a smooth dough forms. Wrap dough tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs.

Roll out dough (approx. 0.5-cm/0.2-in. thick), and cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a knife. Divide apple filling between half of the dough circles, place the remaining circles on top, and press around the edges with a fork to seal. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
